How Age Calculation Works

Age Calculation Formula

Step 1: Calculate Years

Years = Current Year - Birth Year

Step 2: Calculate Months

Months = Current Month - Birth Month

If negative, subtract 1 from years and add 12 to months

Step 3: Calculate Days

Days = Current Date - Birth Date

If negative, subtract 1 from months and add days in previous month

Example Calculation

Birth Date: 15th March 1995 | Current Date: 8th February 2026

Step 1 - Years:
2026 - 1995 = 31 years (tentative)
Step 2 - Months:
February (2) - March (3) = -1
Since negative: 31 - 1 = 30 years, -1 + 12 = 11 months
Step 3 - Days:
8 - 15 = -7
Since negative: 11 - 1 = 10 months, -7 + 31 (days in Jan) = 24 days

Final Age: 30 years, 10 months, 24 days
