How PPF Interest is Calculated

PPF interest is calculated monthly but credited annually at the end of the financial year. Interest is calculated on the lowest balance in the account between the 5th and the last day of each month. This is why it's recommended to deposit before the 5th of every month.

PPF Calculation Formula

M = P × [(1 + r)^n - 1] / r

Where:

• M = Maturity amount

• P = Annual investment amount

• r = Interest rate (7.1% = 0.071)

• n = Number of years
